New resource center for Cavity Ring-Down Spectroscopy solutions specific to Air Quality research now available online

Santa Clara, CA — September 3, 2019 — Picarro Inc., a leading provider of trace gas analyzers for a variety of air monitoring applications, has launched a microsite dedicated to Air Quality research, and more specifically, how Picarro instrumentation enables researchers to grow their understanding of air quality by using Cavity Ring-Down Spectroscopy for precision gas analysis data.

The changes that are occurring to the air we breathe in our homes, our workplaces and our communities –– in both natural and urban environments –– must be understood. Effective monitoring and detection of these changes requires a measurement leap towards real-time data collection and interpretation. Picarro’s gas analyzers provide researchers, policy makers, regulators and businesses with access to technology that expands and improves their understanding of air quality. The ability to detect subtle variations in the simplest of molecules, the common denominators that are the basis of all life on earth, is foundational knowledge that can help drive meaningful change.

The goal of Picarro’s new microsite is to provide a comprehensive resource center for research and industrial communities, policy makers and others who are addressing both indoor and outdoor air quality concerns. The web site provides visitors with relevant information, data, and supporting case studies for the use of Cavity Ring-Down Spectroscopy (CRDS) technology when research calls for high-performance, real-time gas analyzers that are price sensitive and easy to use, and designed for lab or field use. Collateral with specification detail as well as related applications is available for all of the relevant products in the Picarro portfolio. Application notes, whitepapers and  archived webinars from thought-leaders and industry experts are just some of the resources that can be accessed and used as reference and educational tools.

Picarro analyzers have established themselves as the “gold standard” in measurement technology at atmospheric stations around the world (e.g. WMO, GAW). The innovative and disruptive nature of this technology has led to a measurement revolution in other applications as well. At present, Picarro analyzer are deployed to monitor vehicle emissions (H2S), fenceline emissions near industrial facilities (HF, H2S), air quality inside sterilized spaces (H2O2), they are used to quantify community exposure to toxic gases (H2CO, HF), to quantify the emissions of greenhouse gases from urban, industrial and rural infrastructure (CO2, CH4, CO and NH3), and many others. The portable form factor of the analyzer has allowed measurement campaigns to transfer bench-top performance to mobile deployments, be that on land, water or air.
