QUEBEC, CANADA — We operate aluminum smelters. Our application for Picarro hydrogen fluoride (HF) analyzers is in our ambient air monitoring stations, monitoring ambient air quality at fenceline and in local communities for the protection of the environment and community health. Low level concentrations of hydrogen fluoride can damage vegetation. The Picaro HF analyzer was selected because of the technology used in the analyzer, the range of the analyzer, the low concentration of detection threshold, and the reliability of the analyzer. Our Picarro HF analyzer has been in use for over a year. This unit has proved to be extremely reliable and has passed a performance audit by the Canadian Ministry of Environment. Based on our experience with the Picaro HF analyzer, we decided to order two additional Picaro HF analyzers to replace our existing electrochemical HF analyzers.
